Would you consider being an entrepreneur?

What gives you energy, and why? These are things from either work or
leisure, or both, that give you the greatest amount of personal satisfaction,
sense of enjoyment, and energy.
2. What takes away your energy, and why? These create for you the greatest
amount of personal dissatisfaction, anxiety, or discontent and take away your
energy and motivation.
3. List activities (1) that have provided you financial support in the past (e.g., a
part-time or full-time business, a paper route), (2) that have contributed to
your well-being (e.g., financing your education or a hobby), and (3) that you
have done on your own (e.g., building something). Discuss why you became
involved in each of the activities above and what specifically influenced each
of your decisions. What did you learn from these activities?
4. Would you consider being an entrepreneur? Be as specific as possible in your
response by exploring your motivation for either wanting or not wanting to
pursue this as your life path.
5. If you were to become an entrepreneur, what do you think your strengths
would be?
6. If you were to become an entrepreneur, what do you think your weaknesses
would be?
7. In what areas of business (e.g. finance, operations, and marketing) do you
have the most experience? What areas do you have the least experience? Do
you have extensive experience or are there considerable gaps? Do the gaps
concern you?
8. How do the requirements of entrepreneurship – especially the sacrifices, total
immersion, heavy work load, and long-term commitment – fit with your own
aims, values, and motivations?
9. How would you compare your entrepreneurial mind, your fit with
entrepreneurial role demands, your management competencies, and so forth,
with those people you know who have pursued or are pursuing an
entrepreneurial career.
10.What can you conclude about you and entrepreneurship after
answering the prior questions and completing the assessments?

Follow the link provided, and then locate the Soundcloud interview with the CEO of Wonderschool on that page. Listen to the podcast episode and look over the article accompanying it. Then write a ~200-word reflection based on what you heard and read.
You can take your reflection in various directions, but some guiding questions are:
oWhy was this venture successful? What did they do that contributed to that success?
oAnd what can we learn from Mr. Bennett about how to scale successfully specifically?
Part 5: IMPORTANT 900-1000 words
Consider the meta-ethnographic review of gender determinants of vaccination status in children whose abstract is reproduced here:
“Using meta-ethnographic methods, we conducted a systematic review of qualitative research to understand gender-related reasons at individual, family, community and health facility levels why millions of children in low-and middle-income countries are still not reached by routine vaccination programmes. […] Key words were built around the themes of immunization, vaccines, health services, health behavior, and developing countries. Only papers, which reported on in-depth qualitative data, were retained. Twenty-five qualitative studies, which investigated barriers to routine immunisation, were included in the review. These studies were conducted between 1982 and 2012; eighteen were published after 2000. The studies represent a wide range of low-to middle income countries including some that have well known coverage challenges. We found that women’s low social status manifests on every level as a barrier to accessing vaccinations: access to education, income, as well as autonomous decision-making about time and resource allocation were evident barriers. Indirectly, women’s lower status made them vulnerable to blame and shame in case of childhood illness, partly reinforcing access problems, but partly increasing women’s motivation to use every means to keep their children healthy. Yet in settings where gender discrimination exists most strongly, increasing availability and information may not be enough to reach the under immunised. Programmes must actively be designed to include mitigation measures to facilitate women’s access to immunisation services if we hope to improve immunisation coverage. Gender inequality needs to be addressed on structural, community and household levels if the number of unvaccinated children is to substantially decrease.”
Considering this review, answer the following questions:
1.If you were working in a rural community health clinic in the United States, what generalizable knowledge might you be able to take from this meta-ethnography? Why?
2.How might participatory action synthesis help mitigate any potential issues with the studies in the review?
3.List at least two areas where you would want to use PAS to make sure that researcher bias didn’t distort the findings. (Discount any logistical problems that might arise with conducting a PAS over such a large geographic scale.)
[Note: you do not need to read the whole study, but if you want to refer to it, it can be found here: Merten, S., Martin Hilber, A., Biaggi, C., Secula, F., Bosch-Capblanch, X., Namgyal, P., & Hombach, J. Part 6: 400 words
Consider what you have learned about the combined evaluation methods and answer the following questions on the discussion board. Write 2 to 3 paragraphs to fully and creatively address the questions. Consider the example in your required reading.
Do you think that community health improvement processes are effectively approached through a combined use of participatory action synthesis and meta-ethnography?
Is the approach best utilized by larger organizations, and would their generalizable findings be best utilized by smaller organizations?
Can the approach be reproduced on a smaller scale?

Imagine there is a venture which offers a program that analyzes patients’ current health data and medical history and references databases of information to recognize and alert their doctors to risks and to recommend appropriate early testing.
●This venture was founded in Chicago and currently works with one healthcare system in that city
●Implementation of the program has gone very well, and has helped many patients with early diagnosis and treatments
1.Now, imagine that this venture is trying to grow.
a. What does this mean they are trying to do?
b. What does this mean for their profits? Their product?
c. How will this affect their customers?
2.What if they tried to scale instead?
a. What does this mean they are trying to do?
b. What does this mean for their profits? Their product?
c. How will this affect their customers?
Include numbers/letters on your document to designate which part you are responding to, and submit below.

Part 2 300 words total
reflect on how you think the process of scaling a venture may be different for a social venture than a profit-driven venture.
1.Think about which steps and tips will be most important for each type of venture.
oSpecifically identify the top three tips that each type of venture should prioritize and the most important step for each.
2. And then include a short paragraph for each venture type explaining how the challenges that they face will differ and why you chose these as the most important steps and tips

Part 3 300 total
Imagine that you have a venture that has created an app that helps people track their dietary intake to make sure that they are meeting their Recommended Daily Allowances.
Choose one of these strategies and describe briefly how you would use it to scale this venture. Describe the following:
1.What way would you use it?
oIf you are using testimonials, will you use them for a website or marketing?
oIf you are forming a strategic partnership, what kind of partnership will you choose?
oIf you are associating with a larger company, what kind of company will you seek to collaborate with?
2.How would you make it happen?
oFor testimonials, will you email them? Call them? Offer incentives?
oFor a partnership, what will you ask for, and what can you offer?
oFor an association with a larger company, what kind of collaboration will you seek?
3.And finally, what do you expect to gain?
oWhat will this strategy add to your scaling process that you would not have otherwise?

Part 4 400 words total

Then, create a collaborative document with your group by completing the document following the scenario.
Scenario: You and your team work for a community kitchen. The population you serve is diverse, and while the goal of the kitchen is to increase healthy eating, you do not want to teach community members to cook meals they won’t eat.
As a team, select a SDM model and create a proposal for how you would engage the population. You may make assumptions, but consider the following:
What kind of leader do you need to be to facilitate this kind of SDM?
How do you select meals that consider the ethnic backgrounds of the community members?
How do you engage participants in the decision-making processes of the kitchen?
How can you balance health concerns and/or multiple ethnic backgrounds in the planning process?

Part 5 300 words
Discussion Board
Consider what you have learned about barriers to the implementation of SDM and the accompanying intervention strategies:
Directions: Assume the role of a leader on a community health team. You are working on strategies for combating obesity and diabetes in the community and you believe that increasing SDM strategies will assist in achieving the organization’s goals. Currently, there are several organizational-level barriers impacting SDM including the shared views and goals of the team, the priorities, and the resources.
Refer to the required reading strategies on pages 18-19 for reference, and then, create unique strategies for overcoming the barriers in the outlined scenario. You may make assumptions and use the internet as needed. Assume that the leadership is fully vested in implementing more SDM strategies.
●Write 2 to 3 paragraphs to fully and creatively respond to the prompt above.

Part 6 make a guide
scenario: You, and your team, are organizing a community garden that focuses on women and children. You have been given the role of creating a daily plan.
Using the community kitchen daily plan* as your guide, develop your own daily plan.
Part 7 400words

Discussion Board:
Consider what you have learned about the various efficiency models:
Scenario: You are working in a community health clinic and there is a debate over priorities. The staff would like to see a greater focus on employee satisfaction and on patient experience. The leadership is getting pressure about producing more with less resources. The community would like to see an increase in services and programs offered.
Refer to the required reading models and select an organizational efficiency model, or a hybrid of models, to address the issues of the community health clinic.
●Write 2 to 3paragraphs to fully and creatively explain why the selected model will best address the issues at the clinic. Briefly outline how the organization can apply the model.

Part 8 400 words

Read the Scoping Review Links to an external site.before class.
The required reading highlights the barriers to shared decision making and strategies for overcoming identified barriers.
1.Analyze the role of shared decision making. Justify whether or not shared decision making should have an increased focus.
2.Consider the organizational-level and system-level barriers to shared decision making. Which category within the organization or system-level barriers is the easiest to address? Explain your reasoning.
